Freyja is the daughter of Njörðr, the god of the sea and wind, and Skaði, the goddess of winter and the mountains. She is said to have lived in the halls of Sessrúmnir, a palace in the heavenly realm of Asgard, and to have ridden in a chariot pulled by two cats. Freyja was considered to be the most beautiful of all the goddesses and was known for her love of jewelry and fine clothing. She is also associated with magic and is said to have the ability to shape-shift into a falcon.
